PANEL 1: Flashback. Lette stands behind father, Jan. She wears a dress that covers her up to the neck, long gloves and a white overdress. Jan wears a smock, leather hat and a pendant. Jan grinds something in a mortar and pestle. A curtained bed frame is visible behind them.
Lette: But Father--
Jan: Not now, Lette. The patients can hear you.
PANEL 2: Zoomed closer on the two figures. Lette wrings her hands anxiously.
Lette: Then when?
PANEL 3: A view of Lette's window on an unknown night. She sits on the sill, naked, touching the face of a red-haired young man in a fine coat. The man appears to be either climbing in or out of the window.
Jan: ...
Jan: Would you like to share your thoughts, hm?
Jan: On why, suddenly, no man of good standing will even consider marrying you?
PANEL 4: Lette, back in her high-necked dress, talking to Jan. She makes a face that is difficult to read, but not pleased.
Jan (off-screen): That's what I thought.
Jan (off-screen): ...Back to work, please.
